Oxford
The Anglo-Saxon town of Oxford grew from a stopping point on the way from London to the central part of England. Gradually, from a market town, Oxford was transformed into the University town, graduating mostly clerics. There are 39 Colleges in Oxford University now.
During a walking tour of Oxford, I will tell you about the system of British education, I will show you the most interesting colleges (The Brasenose College!) and we will visit one of them. The biggest one is Christ Church College, which features in Harry Potter films and where Alice, the deans daughter lived. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland were described by Charles Dodgson, professor of Christ Church, well-known to us as Lewis Carroll.
The tour will take 5 hours or can be combined with a visit to Blenheim Palace or Windsor for the full day.
