Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is the primary residence of the British Monarchs. It was acquired by King George III in 1761 from the Duke of Buckingham, hence the name. If the Queen is in , we will see her royal standard hoisted but not the state flag. The front of the palace contains the well-known balcony on which the Royal Family greet crowds outside. The state rooms are open to the public only in August and September when the Queen is on holidays. It is better to book the tickets in advance.

We will see the State Rooms of the Palace and the Queen's private garden. Every year the Royal family choose a theme for a special exposition in the palace, for example the wedding dress of Kate Middleton or the Baptism of the Royal children. We can also visit the royal stable with horses, state carriages and cars and the royal gallery which are open to the public all the year round.

The tour will take 2-4 hours, depending on your feelings on the subject of Monarchy.
