Gentlemen's London. St. James's, Piccadilly and Pall Mall
To order excursion
Do you remember Pushkin's "Eugene Onegin", who was dressed like a London Dandy? One of the first dandies was Prince Regent, the future King George IV. Dandies settled down near St. James's Palace, which still belongs to the Queen. The royalty and the courtiers of St. James's established dark suits, full length trousers, elaborate ties. The style called dandyism.
Exclusive shops of that time are still in business. Prince Charles and Prince Phillip are the clients here. You can see their royal warrants on the shops like Lobb’s Bootmaker. This is also the district of fashionable gentlemen's clubs like the White's, founded in 1639. The Queen is the only woman to allow in there. This very unusual tour lasts 3 hours.
